dr inż. Michał Strzelec
Dr. Michał Strzelec is the Chief Metrologist at the Department of Physical Chemistry and Environment of the Central Office of Measures (GUM)—the National Metrology Institute of Poland. He holds an M.Sc. degree (2008) in Chemical Technology from the Faculty of Chemistry at the Warsaw University of Technology. He earned a Ph.D. (2020) Natural and Physical Sciences from the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies, University of Tasmania.
Michał specialises in the analysis of trace elements in food and environmental samples. He represents GUM in international metrological organisations, including the BIPM Consultative Committee for Amount of Substance (CCQM), the EURAMET Technical Committee for Metrology in Chemistry, and the European Metrology Networks for Safe and Sustainable Food and Pollution Monitoring.
Michał is currently conducting research within the EMN project ScreenFood. The project aims to develop standardised measurement methods and certified reference materials (CRM) for the reliable assessment of the safety of food packaging materials, including those made from recycled sources.
